“Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens…” sang Maria Von Trapp in The Sound of Music. “I simply remember my favorite things, and then I don’t feel so bad.”
The Bible says to think on these things in Philippians 4:8 ESV: “…whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
If I think about these things, the God of peace will be with me. A few verses earlier Paul writes to not be anxious about anything, but in EVERY situation with prayer and thanksgiving to present all requests to God…and the peace of God will guard my heart and my mind in Jesus. This is a peace that is beyond my understanding.
What are you choosing to think about right now? Is it true? Is it honorable? Is it just, pure, lovely, and commendable? Is it worthy of praise?
