For every action there is a reaction. For every action there is a consequence. I am free to choose what actions I will take, but I can never choose the consequences that result from my choice. I can only predict what consequences may come from a certain action and act based on this knowledge. There will always be a consequence to my choices whether good or bad, comfortable or not comfortable.
I struggle with the consequence of someone’s else actions upon my child. I struggle with consequences I have brought upon myself due to bad decisions. I have hurt others with consequences of my poor choices!
To life live fully I must be active. I must make decisions. I must make choices. So I can fret about those decisions being perfect and bringing about perfect results OR…. I can seek the Lord first in all matters. I can seek counsel from His Word and from those people He has placed in my life. I can step out in faith knowing God is in charge of the resulting consequences. If I surrender my decisions and actions before Him, seeking to please Him first, His all sufficient grace will cover me. His power is made perfect in my weakness.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9
